Safe visual checks (no tools, no covers off)

  • Look for scorched, warm or damaged outlets and switches
  • Note any breakers that are tripped
  • Check outdoor covers are closed and intact
  • Test GFCIs with their test/reset buttons
  • Look for pest damage near outdoor equipment

Before you leave

  • Have the standby generator serviced
  • Check your surge device's status light
  • Unplug non-essential electronics
  • Leave AC and humidity control on (see Uniform HVAC's checklist)
  • Give your home watch provider our number
  • Leave access instructions

While you're away

A home watch service can spot tripped breakers, failed lights and storm damage. Uniform Home Watch provides documented checks in Southwest Florida.
